Answers to some of the most common questions we receive about premise, hosted and cloud phone systems, telephony hardware, VoIP, and our services.
Can you repair our FreePBX, PBXAct, Issabel, Asterisk or other ‘Brand Name’ phone system?

Whether the PBX installation was not completed, is broken, or a current implementation has devolved into a technical nightmare – we will get your phone system back to operating at peak performance!
Can you migrate our business phones to the cloud?

Can we keep our phone numbers with your telephone service?
Yes! We handle all number porting from your current provider with zero service interruption during the transition. Working and coordinating with multiple phone carriers can be a challenge, let our experience and knowledge save you the headache of downtime and confusion during the critical stages of migration.
Do you have unlimited calling?

Can we use SIP trunks with your Cloud PBX?
Yes, we use SIP trunks with our cloud phone systems as well as other current IP based telephony technologies.
Can you migrate our office to a hosted PBX in the Cloud?
Yes! We can and we routinely do, saving our clients money and increasing their flexibility with a focus on remote and mobile workers. This has been extremely important in light of recent world events and the resulting need for reliable communications for remote workers and telecommuters.
Can we BYOD (bring your own device) on your phone systems?
Absolutely! We can help you source new phones, or reuse your existing SIP devices! We can provide advice on hardware already owned, or provide phones to you as a part of a Cloud PBX package. With The Telephone Techs and our Open Source Telephony expertise, we will help you avoid ‘Vendor Lock’ while maintaining scalability and maximizing ROI.
Can we use our Analog phones on a IP phone system?
Additional hardware will be required to get your VoIP PBX to work with analog devices, after which your phones will function just like any other IP phone on your PBX. Contact us today to find out if we can integrate your analog devices with your premise or hosted phone system!
Why should I use an Asterisk PBX instead of A NEC/Toshiba/Panasonic/Samsung key phone system?
Absolutely – The primary reason is because you will avoid ‘vendor lock’. There are ample resources for Asterisk assistance and integrations in the USA and you are not locked into any particular vendor or brand with Asterisk. That includes the VoIP phones, TDM hardware, the network and associated support, etc. You also have no licensing to contend with, further simplifying management and increasing ROI.
Can you help us prepare our network for a VoIP implementation?
We design and implement VoIP networks nationwide. The network on which your VoIP system is going to reside needs to be prepared for the voice traffic that will be traversing it. This is one of the most commonly over looked and costly occurrences when implementing a VoIP phone system. There are multiple potential caveats when real time voice is present on your data network; let us help you meet your implementation deadline without the anxiety and lost productivity of a failed installation!
We have a unique situation presenting special challenges, can you help?
We would love to hear about it and help! Give us a ring!
Where are you located?
We are hosted in the USA and split our time between Texas and Washington, servicing all of the USA and various international locations.
